Dibens secures runners-up spot in New York
Team Bath Olympian Julie Dibens followed up her third place in Minneapolis with an impressive runners-up spot at the Nautica New York City Triathlon.
Julie crossed the finish line in 1:57.23 in Sunday’s race – just under two minutes behind Australian winner Emma Snowshill – but more than two minutes clear New York’s Rebeccah Wassner, who finished third.
Julie came out of the swim in the Olympic distance triathlon in third place but produced another strong 40k bike ride to lead by more than a minute going into the 10k run. She was overhauled by Snowshill, but was comfortably able to hang on to her runners-up spot.
