Julie Dibens secured another podium finish when she was runner-up at the Toyota US Open Triathlon in Dallas, the USA, yesterday (Sunday).

The 32-year-old, who trains at the University of Bath, came home second behind Sarah Haskins of the USA. Dibens crossed the line at the end of the 1500m swim, 40k bike ride and 10k run in one hour 57 minutes and 57 seconds – just over two minutes behind Haskins.

Dallas was also the final event in the Lifetime Fitness triathlon series and Dibens’ runner-up spot was enough to ensure she finished second overall to Australia’s Emma Snowsill in the series.

Dibens produced a consistent series that saw her finish in the top three in each of the five events. She came third in Minneapolis, second in New York, third in Chicago and second in Los Angeles, before her runners-up spot in Dallas.
