Stunning sporting weekend for University of Bath athletes in the pool and on court
University of Bath swimmers made a piece of history by completing a clean sweep of team titles at the British Universities (BUSA) Short Course Championships.
The University of Bath team won the overall, men’s and women’s titles at Sheffield over the weekend. It was the first time that rivals Loughborough have failed to win all of the titles at a BUSA swimming championships in the 17-year history of BUSA swimming.
Meanwhile, University of Bath players also collected four of the five titles up for grabs at the BUSA badminton championships in Nottingham.
Harry Wright was star of the show, winning the men’s singles title as well as forming half of the winning men’s doubles and mixed doubles pairs. University of Bath players also won the women’s doubles title.
“It was a stunning sporting weekend for University of Bath athletes and I would like to congratulate everyone who contributed to those successes,” said Ged Roddy, Director of Sport at the University of Bath.
