World Cup bronze for Weale

Bath-based Sam Weale won his first Modern Pentathlon World Cup medal when he took bronze at Millfield on Saturday.

Great Britain team-mate Nick Woodbridge also secured a top-10 finish, coming eighth. The performances of Sam and Nick at Millfield increased their prospects of securing a place at the Beijing 2008 Olympics by pushing them up the Olympic ranking list.

Britain's Heather Fell rounded off the World Cup by taking gold on Sunday, with Georgina Harland finishing seventh in the women's event.

The Pentathlon GB high performance centre is based at the University of Bath.
