AASE graduates celebrate success

The first athletes to graduate from the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE) programme at TeamBath have received their certificates at a graduation evening.Presentation 003[1].jpg

Judo players Louise Little, Frank Goldsmith and Daniel Cryer, hockey player Lewis Prosser and beach volleyball player Jake Sheaf were the five graduating athletes.

Each of the apprentices completed a two-year Advanced Apprenticeship framework consisting of a National Vocational Qualification Level 3 in Achieving Excellence in Sports Performance, a technical certificate BTEC National Certificate in Sport (Performance and Excellence) and key skills in literacy and numeracy.

The presentations were made by University of Bath student Ben Rushgrove, silver medal winner at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games, and England netball player and University of Bath graduate Pamela Cookey.

The event was organised by AASE manager Sarah Hale and held at Coombe Grove Manor. Guests included member of the teaching and coaching staff from TeamBath and Wiltshire College, our partner for the AASE programme.
