Ninth place finish for Nicola and Jackie
The British women’s bobsleigh crew of Nicola Minichiello and Jackie Gunn achieved a top-10 finish in their first World Cup event of the 2008/9 season.
The pair, who do some of their training at the University of Bath Sports Training Village, came ninth overall in round one of the World Cup in Winterberg, Germany.
Nicola and Jackie were 10th fastest after the first run, but were almost half a second quicker in the second run to climb to ninth.
Their total time over the two runs was 1:57.41 – putting them 1.55 seconds behind Canadians Helen Upperton and Jennifer Ciochetti, who took gold.
