Minichiello ninth in Vancouver
Britain’s Nicola Minichiello finished ninth in the penultimate round of the 2008/9 women’s bobsleigh World Cup on the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games track.

Minichiello and her brakeman Gillian Cooke were 11th after the first of two runs on Saturday, but produced a better performance on the second run, with the seventh fastest time.

Minichiello is fifth in the overall World Cup rankings with one round of the competition remaining in Park City in the USA.

Germany’s Sandra Kiriasis, the world and Olympic champion, leads she series. She finished fifth in Vancouver, where gold went to Shauna Rohbock and Elana Meyers of the USA.

Minichiello does some of her training at the University of Bath.
