Team Bath through to FA Futsal Cup Finals
Team Bath Futsal Club have reached the FA Futsal Cup Finals for the first time.
The team booked a place in the last-16 by winning the FA Midlands regional qualifiers. They will now battle it out with another 15 clubs in the finals at Sheffield over 3-5 July.
Team Bath comfortably won both of their group games in the qualifiers before going on to win the final.
They got their campaign underway with a 3-0 win over Worcestershire County winners Kidderminster Lions, courtesy of a brace from Sion Kitson and one goal from Ian Parkes. All of the goals game in the first half.
They followed that up with an emphatic 15-0 win over Birmingham qualifiers ST AFC. All six outfield players got on the scoresheet for TeamBath with Parkes and Fynn Scheben hitting four goals each, Paul Simmons, Dave Jennings and Green getting two each, and Kitson adding one.
Team Bath rounded off their campaign with a 6-1 win over Madley Sports in the final. Man-of-the-match Kitson led the way with a hat-trick in just three first half minutes, while Parkes added a fourth before the break.
Simmons added a fifth after the interval before Madley finally added a consolation. There was still time for Green to make it 6-1 five minutes from the end.
Afterwards coach Sion Kitson said: “This was a great professional display from the Team Bath team, even though some four key players missing. We hope they all return for the FA Futsal Cup Finals in Sheffield at the start of July.”
