TeamBath judo player Emmanuel Nartey has won his first World Cup title, taking gold at Apia in Samoa.

Nartey, who serves in the British Army and represents Ghana, was trailing the Chinese player with 30 seconds of the final remaining – but then threw him for a contest-winning Ippon score.
“It’s the first time I’ve won a World Cup,” said Nartey. “It’s come at a really good time for me and has really picked my confidence up.”
