University players take part in rugby scrum research launch

University of Bath rugby players helped to launch  a major study into of the rugby scrum that is being carried out by the University of Bath with funding from the International Rugby Board.

The two-year study – the Biomechancis of the Rugby Scrum – will drive best practice player welfare policy in this critical area of the game.

The project will be lead by Dr Grant Trewartha and Dr Keith Stokes from the University’s Sport, Health & Exercise Science group.

University of Bath players demonstrated the equipment that will be used in the project at its official launch last week.

The project will feature on Total Rugby on Sky Sports 2 at 5.30pm on Wednesday 9 June. Further screenings to be confirmed.
