Biography >
Tom Reed has been training with the High Performance Training Programme since the age of 16, hailing from Devizes in Wiltshire.
Tom is a member of the BJA Performance Development squad and hopes to compete in London 2012.
He achieved 5th place in the 2005 Junior European Championships
In October 2006 Tom commenced his studies in Business Management at the University of Bath, following a gap year where he trained at Tokai University in Japan.
In 2007 Tom was the British Most Improved Player.
Tom won silver at the European – 23 Championships in 2007. He won his opening three preliminary round contests in Austria before beating Aleksander Marmeljuk from Estonia in the semis. He missed out on gold though, losing to Slovenia’s Aljaz Sedej in the final.
It was a particular challenge for Reed, who has moved up a division and is also fitting training around working full-time in London on his placement year.
Tom is also a Braunschweig Bundesliga member

- 2010 Scottish Open – Gold
- 2010 Senior German European Cup – 5th Place
- 2010 Orenburg European Cup – Bronze
- 2010 Vienna World Cup – Silver
Tom from the University of Bath represented Great Britain at the World University Games in Shenzhen, China in August 2011 in the under-81kg weight division judo competitions .
