Biography >
Stacey Tadd Joined in 2000 as a member of the Age Group Swimming Squad.
She then progressed up to the Senior Squad and is now currently swimming with Mark Skimming in the Team Bath Performance Squad.
In 2003 Stacey was Britain’s most successful swimmer at the European Youth Olympics in Paris, winning two individual gold medals and a relay bronze.
Her achievements in that year were recognized when Stacey was named Most Promising Newcomer at the Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year Awards.
But in 2004 Stacey suffered a serious knee injury while in Australia. She showed grit and determined to battle back to win the 200m individual medley gold at the 2005 British Championships, when she also took silver in the 400m individual medley and bronze in the 200m breaststroke.
In 2005 Stacey won her first senior British title, when she took 200m individual medley gold at the British Championships.
In 2008 Stacey then suffered another knee injury causing her to have a second knee operation on the same leg.
After serious rehabilitation she managed to once again come back fighting to win Gold in the 2010 British Championships in 200m breastroke. This qualified her for the European Long course and Commonwealth Games.
