Biography>
Steve had a disappointing 2006, missing virtually all of the outdoor season after tripping on a hurdle, breaking his collarbone and cracking a bone in his elbow.
Won a gold medal as a member of Great Britain’s 4×400m relay quartet at the 2007 European Indoor Championships on his debut in a GB vest.
Steve anchored the GB team that crossed the line second, but were upgraded to first after the Germans were disqualified for fouling the Russian runner on the last leg.
He followed that performance up with the 400m title at the BUSA Indoors a week later running in University of Bath colours.
Those performances rounded off an outstaying indoor season in which Steve had slashed his indoor 400m pb from 48.98 to 46.69.
Steve has a Physics degree from Cambridge University and decided to study for his PhD at the University of Bath because of the excellent combination of athletics and academic that it offered.
He trains as part of coach Malcolm Arnold’s group at the UK Athletics centre at the Sports Training Village – a group that also includes Jason Gardener, Craig Pickering, Ryan Scott and Dale Garland.
