Biography >
The peak of Liz’s swimming career to date came when she struck gold in the SB6 100m breaststroke at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games.
Beijing was her second Paralympic Games and followed followed a sivler medal in the same event in Athens in 2004, four years after she was first selected to represent Great Britain.
Other major career successes include a hat-trick of gold medals at the 2006 World Championships in Durban, South Africa, when she won the 100m breaststroke and helped Great Britain to two relay titles.
Liz transferred to train at the University of Bath under head coach Mark Skimming in the summer of 2009 after six years training in Swansea.
In April 2011 Liz had the honour of placing the last of the 180,000 tiles laid in the 50m competition pool, training pool and diving pool at the London 2012 Aquatics Centre to mark 500 days to go until the 2012 Paralympic Games (picture left by Anthony Charlton).
Liz has a BSc in Business Management, specialising in Finance.
