Team Bath quartet feature in World Champs opener

All four Team Bath players featured for England in their opening game of the World Netball Championships in Singapore today (Monday).

England ran out comfortable 65-33 winners over Malawi in today’s pool D contest in Singapore.

Team Bath player and University of Bath Business Administration graduate Pamela Cookey played the first three quarters at goal attack, scoring 17 goals from 20 attempts.

Eboni Beckford-Chambers played the first half at goal defence, before being replaced by Team Bath team-mate Stacey Francis, while Serena Guthrie featured for the final two quarters at wing attack.

England, who also feature former Team Bath players Rachel Dunn, Tamsin Greenway and Geva Mentor in their seven-strong squad, return to action tomorrow (Tuesday) against Barbados.

There was disappointment for another Team Bath player, Asha Tett, as her Singapore side went down 43-36 to Botswana in the opening game of the competition yesterday (Sunday).
