Danish Paralympic swimmers prepare for London 2012 in Bath

Paralympic swimmers from Denmark have completed a preparation camps at the University of Bath ahead of the London 2012 Games.

The six-strong team spent two weeks training at the University.

Jon Rasmussen, National Head Coach of the Danish Paralympic swimming team, said: “I loved the facilities in Bath. It’s wonderful that everything is here when you walk into the building and that there are athletes all around you. The pool is great and we can eat and stay on campus.

“We have a very young team. A lot of them would be considered a possibility to medal in Rio in 2016 and we’ll be looking for them to make the finals this year,” he added, “Once you make the final, anything can happen.”

The University of Bath has hosted preparation camps from teams around the world ahead of London 2012, including swimmers from China, badminton players from Malaysia, track and field athletes from Russia and judo players from Barbados and Nauru.

It will host the main ParalympicsGB preparation camp ahead of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
