A punchy new preview to the BBC’s Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games coverage featuring two athletes based at the University of Bath has now gone live. Film crews working for the BBC filmed swimmer Michael Jamieson and judo player Emmanuel Nartey at the University of Bath Sports Training Village for the preview film. University of Bath sports performance graduate Zoe Shipperley has been named today in the England squad for the Commonwealth Games next month. Team Bath’s Lynne Hutchison has been named amongst a 13-strong England gymnastics squad to compete at this summer’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Nine University of Bath-connected track and field athletes have today (Monday) been named in the England team for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Medals for University-based swimmers in Barcelona

Bath-based swimmer Siobhan-Marie O’Connor won gold in the 200m individual medley at the Mare Nostrum swimming international in Barcelona over the weekend. O’Connor, who trains at the National Centre for Swimming at the University of Bath, also set a Championships record of 2:09.63.
