Team Bath Netball’s Sam Cook on shortlist for Superleague Player of the Season award

17 April 2015

Team Bath Netball defender Sam Cook has been rewarded for her impressive return from a serious knee injury by being shortlisted for the Netball Superleague Player of the Season award.

The 23-year-old missed the 2014 season following an anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction but played every game for the Blue and Gold during 2015 and also gained her first senior England cap against Jamaica.

Sky Sports netball experts Anita Navin, Stef Bello and Natalie Seaton said: “Cook returned to the Superleague fold this year with all the dynamism that has made her one of the most exciting defenders to watch in the league.

“Acrobatic, fast and tenacious, Cook has been rewarded for her work in 2015 with a spot in the England squad for the Test Series against Trinidad and Tobago.”

Joining Cook on the five-strong shortlist are Natalie Haythornthwaite (Yorkshire Jets), Helen Housby (Manchester Thunder), Naida Hutchinson (Hertfordshire Mavericks) and former Team Bath player Tamsin Greenway (Surrey Storm).
