Athletes on the BBSKA’s programme benefit from the unique Team Bath 140m push-start track, giving them an edge in international training and an opportunity to rehearse their starts - a crucial element of the sport.
Amy Williams, who trains at the Sports Training Village, won Great Britain’s gold medal at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics; the first British woman for 58 years to win an individual Winter Olympics gold medal.
Shelley Rudman won Great Britain’s only medal of the Torino 2006 Winter Olympic Games when she slid to a thrilling silver medal in February.
We have well established support services for athletes: leading national and international coaches, sports doctors; physiotherapists; masseurs; nutritionists; performance and video analysts; exercise physiologists; and sport psychologists.
All the services are delivered either from the heart of our Sports Village and are backed by a mentoring system as well as lifestyle support managers. Or, they are delivered out on the road with athletes as they train and compete in the UK and overseas.
