Mariana Agathangelou is rated as one of Britain’s most talented young  badminton players. The left-handed player took up the sport aged eight.  She has just started to study for a degree in Coach Education and Sports  Development at the University of Bath, where she also trains at the  University of Bath’s high performance badminton centre.</p>
<p>Among her achievements to date were some remarkable performances at  the 2005 Island Games, when she won gold medals in all four events in  which she competed – the women’s doubles, mixed doubles, women’s singles  and team event. In March 2006 she won two titles at the English  National Under-19 Championships, although still aged only 17.</p>
<p>But her biggest success to date came on her home courts when she won  the women’s doubles title of Badminton England’s ASICS National Elite  Open Circuit Grand Finals in December 2006, aged just 18 and partnering  16-year-old Gabby White. The pair beat the more experienced partnership  of Suzanne Rayappan and Jenny Wallwork 22-20, 21-18 at the Sports  Training Village.</p>

</strong>In 2001 George won the U18 National Singles Circuit and reached the top 4 as an English Junior.</p>
<p>Since joining Bath George has trained within the High Performance  Centre and in 2005 became BUSA champion with Matt Hanson. George is a  member of the Avon 1st team and won a silver medal in Premier A in 2004.</p>
<p>He represents English Universities and also plays for a French club  in the top French league. George helped Bath&#8217;s first team win  consecutive team BUSA titles and was named player of the tournament in  2007. George is now a doubles player and last season was runner-up in  the Challenger Finals and played internationally in the European  Badminton Circuit.</p>
<p>George is a TASS Scholar and is currently coaching whilst studying his Masters part-time.</p>

Hayley graduated from the University of Bath with an HND in Coach  Education and Sports Performance in December 2005. Achieved her biggest  success to date at her second World University Championships, in Wuhan  October 2006, winning a mixed doubles bronze medal with Rob Adcock. This  was despite suffering a stress structure to a bone in one of her feet  in August of that year, leaving her on crutches. Hayley’s performances  in Wuhan earned her the TeamBath Athlete of the Month award.</p>
<p>Partnered fellow TeamBath player Heather Olver to win the women’s doubles at the 2005 Welsh Open.</p>

Chris is one of England&#8217;s most talented young badminton players &#8211; a status that was recognised in March 2011 when he collected the Badminton Writers&#8217; Association Young Player of the Year Award.</p>
<p>The following month he produced the best result of his career to date to win men&#8217;s doubles title with at the European Junior Championships  partnering Matt Nottingham.</p>
<p>In October 2011 he was runner-up in the mixed doubles at the Turkish Open with Jessica Fletcher, and he won the men&#8217;s doubles titles at both the 2010 and 2011 England National Under-19 Championships with Nottingham.</p>

<p><strong>Biography &gt;</strong><br />
Talented young badminton player  who took up the game aged six. First represented England in 1999 at  under-13 level. Won a bronze medal with the England team at the Bendigo  2004 Commonwealth Youth Games in Australia and was also a member of the  England team that won the 2004 Danish Junior Cup in Copenhagen.</p>
<p>Ended 2005 in style, winning her first senior international title,  the women’s doubles title at the Welsh Open, partnering fellow TeamBath  player Hayley Connor.</p>
<p>Heather is currently studying for a degree in Coach Education and  Sports Development at the University of Bath, where she combines her  studies with training at the High Performance Badminton Centre.</p>

</strong>Nathan has established himself  as one of England&#8217;s top men&#8217;s singles players. He took up the sport aged  seven and won 10 national junior titles at under-12 to under-19 levels.</p>
<p>Transferred to train at the University of Bath&#8217;s High Performance  Badminton Centre in September 2006. Just missed out on re-gaining the  ASICS National Elite title, when he lost the final at the University of  Bath to Rajiv Ouseph in December 2006.</p>
