It’s fair to say that John has done a fair bit in his career!</p>
<p>His first sport as a player was football. He played for Coventry City  FC (by choice as an Amateur), and later for both Banbury Town &amp;  Atherstone FC.</p>
<p>He played Group 1 National Tennis for 3 different Counties: Warwickshire, Cambridgeshire and North Wales.<br />
He moved into Tennis Coaching in the 1960’s, and soon it became clear that this was his passion and strength.<br />
He worked his way up through numerous positions and became Great Britain U16 Coach in 1989.</p>
<p>For 11 years John worked both on the practice court and on world  junior tour with pretty much every top British player out there  including Tim Henman, Miles Maclaglen, Andrew Richardson.</p>
<p>During the 90’s he started to build his own squad at Wrexham. He  became individual coach to Mark Hilton, Nick Gould and Mike Walker (all  Davis Cup squad) and Lucie Ahl (Fed Cup); and his players won at least  15 National Junior titles. John passed this squad on in 2004/5 to work  for the LTA once again with the U18 National Girls Squad based at Queens  Club.</p>
<p>John is married Jan in 1966, and has two children and three Grandchildren. He lives in Calne.</p>

</strong>The diminutive teenager who views Saltash in Cornwall as home  but is now based largely in Boca Raton, Florida has merited the highest  profile of any British junior with the exception of Andy Murray for the  past couple of years. Coached by step-father Jason Spence and managed by  the influential agents IMG, the right-hander insists her ambition is to  become the best tennis player in the world.</p>
<p>In 2005 her ITF junior combined ranking rose from 211 to 74 but she  has yet to make an impression at any of the game’s majors. However, she  recently managed to reach the third round of the United States Tennis  Association’s Spring Championships in Carson, California and the  quarter-finals of the Austria Spring Bowl.</p>
<p>Looking to gain invaluable experience she has spent much of the last  year playing women’s tennis. After the Australian Open she spent another  month Down Under, reaching a quarter-final in Wellington, New Zealand  and qualifying for a $25,000 tournament in Sydney. Her 16th birthday saw  her standing at No.838 on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour world rankings and  this summer she intends to combine tennis with her GCSE exams after  continuing to work on a correspondence basis with her school in  Plymouth.</p>

<p><strong>Biography</strong> &gt;<br />
Former British International player and world ranked top 200, John  coached for the Dutch Tennis Federation for 2 years working with their  top 10 senior Women players, both in Holland and at tournaments  worldwide.</p>
<p>He moved on to work for the LTA Women’s Training Department as  U16/U18/Senior National Coach, training, captaining and traveling  internationally with players. After 5 years for the LTA, he became Head  Coach running the Scholarship Programme at Sevenoaks School, which under  his leadership became the top UK tennis school, winning the British  Schools’ Championships and Public Schools’ Championships several times  between 1992-1996.</p>
<p>Joining the University of Bath in 1997 at the commencement of the LTA  Tennis Scholarship Programme, he has guided the Men’s and Women’s Teams  to great success, winning the British University Men’s Championships in  1998/99/00/01, and the Women’s Championships in 2001/02. Additionally,  he has been Men’s Coach for the British Team at the World University  Games in Palma (1999) and Beijing (2001), and Team Manager in Korea  (2003) and Izmir, Turkey (2005).</p>

Left-hander with an aggressive  all-court game, Simon returns to Bath having graduated with an economics  degree in 2001.This time he is combining studying the Sports  Performance degree with his aims of climbing higher up the World  Rankings.</p>
<p>Simon was instrumental in helping the Bath men&#8217;s team to remain  undefeated winning 8 BUSA titles between 1997-01. During that period, he  was BUSA Doubles Champion and represented the BUSA GB Team.</p>
<p>Following graduation, he coached some of Britain&#8217;s top juniors, but  still found the time to notch up several notable successes including  wins over Alex Bogdanovic and Nick Weal, winning the British Tour event  at Frinton, and making finals at Paddington and Tunbridge Wells, as well  as playing a prominent part in the Essex Senior County team.</p>
<p>Now back on the tournament trail with a vengeance, Simon qualified  and reached the final of the recent ITF $10000 in Jersey, beating in the  process Jamie Baker (ATP 380) and Conor Niland (ATP 510).</p>

His current ATP ranking is 840 and his GB ranking is 2.1</p>
