Performance Football
Team Bath FC is no ordinary football club. It is a fully-fledged football club within the environment of the University of Bath. It provides players with the opportunity to train and play as full-time footballers whilst following a course of study.
As well as enjoying the facilities on offer at the University, the club also boasts its own private training ground of enviable standard. The club is committed to its rise through the football pyramid whilst ensuring that player development is of equal importance.
Founded in 2000, in its first five years Team Bath
FC had recruited over 50 young players from professional football. A significant number have returned to a full-time professional contract with a League or Conference Club. The majority have graduated with at least a foundation degree. Players of varying ages and backgrounds are invited to apply for a place with the team. High performing players are supported by a scholarship fund.
In 2002 Team Bath FC became the first university team to reach the First Round proper of the FA Cup in 122 years. Currently it is the highest competing university club in the UK.
Team Bath football also boasts a women’s programme that has links to a number of National Premier League clubs and has recently supported players at U19, U21 and full international level. As well as competing in national and regional competitions, the women’s team became the 2005 British Universities Champions.
