Futures
Team Bath judo is dedicated to helping players reach their goals as they aspire for international representation. There is a coordinated and cohesive performance development programme.
We also aim to offer players the opportunity to further their academic studies alongside their training.
Team Bath Futures Judo offers four possibilities for Cadet level players; AASE residential, AASE BJA National Squad, Grenville College, and Visiting holidays and half-terms.
AASE Residential
Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE)
The programme is designed to enable athletes aged 16 to 18 to develop their potential in their sport, whilst continuing in education.
The AASE programme enables structured development of the athlete both educationally and as a competitor.

AASE-BJA
The Team Bath Futures Judo Programme is delivered in partnership with the BJA World Class Start Programme. It has many different pathways so is suitable for all levels of performance development. Players aged 16-18 can either follow the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence, studying at Wiltshire College and following a structured judo development programme. Or players can visit the Team Bath High Performance Group in school holidays or half terms. This programme also operates once a week during term time for those committed young players who have negotiated day release from school.
Visitors Holidays & Half Terms
Many Cadet level players are interested to have the opportunity to train within a high-performance training environment. For some it is a helpful step to help them decide if they have a future as a full-time judo player.
Visitors are welcome to access our training environment at any time convenient to their studies. Check the training programme here.
TASS Athletes
Certain judo players may be eligible for support from the government’s Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS). The scheme offers support to those athletes in full time education.
There are a number of British Judo Association scholarships available to support players of the right level based at the Judo Academy. A limited number of Team Bath Coaching and Facility scholarships are also available to players of the right level.
