Training Sessions

Team Bath Squad
Swim Monday - Friday: 10.00 -12.00pm (Thursday is uncoached)
Sunday: 2.30-4.00 pm
See pool timetable for access to public swimming
Bike Tuesday: 4.45pm Bottom of Bathwick Hill for ride to Castle Combe (Summer only)
Wednesday: 1.30pm Bottom of Bathwick Hill for group ride/ chaingang
Saturday: 8.30am Bottom of Bathwick Hill for ride to Chippenham Wheelers Ride
Sunday: 9.30am Bottom of Bathwick for MTB or road ride with other triathletes
Run Monday – Friday (excluding Wednesday): 8.00am at STV reception

Criteria of athlete for Team Bath squad

If you can show evidence that you have achieved any of the below criteria then you will have a chance to apply for a place on the squad. Places are however limited so that quality of coaching support can be maintained. If there is any doubt over level of fitness then it will be up to you to complete a time trial to prove attainment of standard. Dependant on current status a membership fee may be required to join.
Olympic Squad: within the last 2 years (2005 and 2006)

Set distance time trials: swim times are non-wetsuit.

Male Times
> Swim a sub 4:40 400m long course (sub 4:30 short course) and can run a sub 9:30 3km on a track.
OR
> Swim a sub 4:20 400m long course (sub 4:10 short course) and can run a sub 9:45 3km on a track.
OR
> Swim a sub 5mins 400m long course (sub 4:50 short course) and can run a sub 9:00 3km on a track.

Female Times
> Swim a sub 5mins 400m long course (sub 4:50 short course) and can run a sub 10:35 3km on a track.
OR
> Swim a sub 4:40 400m long course (sub 4:30 short course) and can run a sub 10:55 3km on a track.
OR
> Swim a sub 5:15 400m long course (sub 5:05 short course) and can run a sub 10:10 3km on a track.

Race Results

  • Earned a World Cup Start by virtue of their ability.
  • Achieved top 20 at an ITU points race
  • Finished top 10 at Windsor, London or National Elite Champs
  • Finished top 5 at National Elite Junior Champs
  • Individual BUSA medallist

Other

  • Current TASS Scholar
  • Former WC/ TASS program athlete who shows evidence of dedication and further development in ability
  • Show the necessary ability to be a potential BUSA medallist

Long Course / Duathlon Squad: within the last 2 years (2005 and 2006)
Race Results:

  • Earned a place on the National Elite team by virtue of their ability.
  • Achieved top 10 at an ITU Worlds or European Championships.
  • Achieved top 10 at an Official Ironman event including 70.3
  • Finished top 5 at National Elite Long distance/ Duathlon Champs
