Biography >
A visually impaired athlete, Darren joined Team Bath in 2006 and made his Paralympic Games debut at Beijing in 2008. He lost to Cuba’s Victor Sanchez in the quarter-finals and the Cuban went on to win bronze.

Darren has achieved considerable success in judo, winning a silver medal at the 2007 Visually Impaired European Championships and following that up with bronze at the same competition in 2009.

Although he still trains with the judo group at Team Bath and does some of his conditioning work at the University of Bath, he has recently gone back to playing football and represented England’s visually impaired five-a-side team at the Paralympic Games.

Darren named in ParalympicsGB five-a-side squad for London 2012.

Darren helped his team to a final win against Turkey 0:2 finishing seventh overall.
