Bobsleigh pair ninth in World Cup

The British bobsleigh pair of Nicola Minichiello and Lauren Therin produced their best World Cup result of the season to finish ninth in Austria.

The pair, who do some of their training at the University of Bath Sports Training Village, followed up their recent 10th place at Cortina in Italy with ninth on the Igls track in Austria.

They produced a consistent pair of runs in Igls, finishing eighth and ninth. The British pair are now 15th in the 2006/7 World Cup standings. Five of the eight rounds of the series are now complete.

Gold went to the Germany 1 crew of Sandra Kiriasis and Anja Schilderheinze Stoeckel – the 2006 Olympic champions.
