Biography >
Tough centre back who joined TeamBath FC in the summer of 2006 after three seasons with Burscough, one with Matlock, one with Guiseley and half a season with Hucknall Town.

Played in Burscough’s finest hour – their 2003 FA Trophy final win over Tamworth in 2003. The game was played at Aston Villa’s Villa Park in front of more than 14,000 spectators and was televised live on Sky.

Burscough had started their FA Trophy campaign that year rated at 400-1 to win the silverware, but ran out 2-1 winners over Tamworth in the final.

Matt, who was formerly a goalkeeper, was a member of the England Universities side that won the 2006 British University Games football title. Studied at the University of Bath.
