Anna represented her country at the Delhi Commonwealth Games in 2010, a very good year for her which saw her rise to a then-career-best 262 singles ranking and 122 doubles ranking.

Following her win at the Aegon Challenger Trophy at Nottingham Tennis Centre in 2014 with doubles partner Jocelyn Rae, Smith became the British number 1 ranked women’s doubles player. The duo also received a wildcard entry to Wimbledon 2014.

It was the first time that a Team Bath MCTA player has won an event of this level ($75,000).

Anna has since climbed into the top 100 of the WTA rankings and in 2016 she reached the third round of Wimbledon mixed doubles during a tournament in which she and playing partner Neal Skupski knocked out number one seeds Ivan Dodig and Sania Mirza. They repeated that achievement in 2017, a year in which Anna contested all four Grand Slam tournaments.
