Amy Williams, Bath’s own golden girl, is on a shortlist of just six athletes for the prestigious Sportswoman of the Year Award.

The result will be decided by public vote and the poll closes at midday tomorrow (Thursday 18 November). If you haven’t already voted for Amy, please do so by going to The Sunday Times website.

University of Bath graduate Amy made a piece of history when she struck skeleton gold at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

It was Britain’s first Olympic Winter Games individual gold medal for 30 years and the first individual gold won by a British woman since 1952.
