Jay, an ambassador for M. J. Church, is a promising young swimmer and is studying Sports Performance at the University of Bath. He is supported by a Santander Sports Scholarship.

He qualified to swim for England at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, finishing sixth in the 1500m.

In 2015, Jay won gold and silver at the World University Games held in Gwangju, South Korea.
