Kirsten is a talented young 400m runner and combines training with studying for a Biochemsitry degree at the University of Bath.

Her main coach is Trevor Painter, coach to Jenny Meadows, but she receives from support in Bath from Colin Bovell, the University’s head track and field coach.

After a good season, Kirsten was named in the GB 4 x 400m relay squad for the 2013 World Championships in Moscow and travelled to the Russian capital but didn’t make the final quartet that competed at the championships.

A Scot, she aims to compete at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. If successful she would be following in the footsteps of her mum, then Fiona Hargreaves, who represented Scotland at 400m the last time it hosted the Commonwealths at Edinburgh in 1986.

Kirsten receives support from a Santander Sports Scholarship.
