Biography >
Joyce has had a long and distinguished International Career; including winning a Bronze medal for Northern Ireland in the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland New Zealand. She is also Bronze Medallist in the World University Championships in Strasbourg 1984.

Joyce is heavily involved in World Masters Judo, winning a total of 8 consecutive World Masters Championships. She is the Vice President for Europe in the World Master Athlete association, and represents the BJA on the EJU Masters Commission.

She has had considerable success in other combat forms including two medals in the World Kurash Championships and has competed in the World Sambo Championships and also the World Cornish Wrestling Championships.

Her sister Avril has also achieved great success, winning medals in the European and World Championships.

Joyce in the British Judo Association Regional Schools Development Officer and the former Physical Education adviser to Birmingham Local Education Authority.
