Biography >
Shauna was born in South Africa and lived there for 10 years before moving to Penang, Malaysia for four years where she started playing volleyball.
She then moved to Edinburgh, Scotland in 1999 where she finished school and completed a Masters degree in Management with Business Law. She followed that with a second Masters in Marketing at the University of Bath.
Shauna played indoor volleyball from 2000 to 2006 and represented Scotland indoor national team from 2003 to 2006.
She represented Great Britain at the World University Beach Champs in Cyprus in 2006 and moved to Bath to be part of GB beach volleyball programme also in 2006.
Shauna has been competing on the FIVB beach volleyball world tour since 2007. She has partnered Zara Dampney for most of the spell, but paired with Denise Johns for part of 2008.
Shauna and Zara were the highest placed British finishers at the 2011 World Championships finishing 17th – they went down to Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008 Olympic gold medallists Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh of the USA, who went on to take silver at the World Champs.
