Biography: Megan started judo in 1994, aged five. After training full time at the University of Bath for almost 10 years, she represented Great Britain at the 2011 World University Games in China and has gone on to win medals at European, World Cup and Commonwealth level – including a gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
A member of the Team Bath Athlete Forum, Megan says: “As one of the more senior athletes and a captain in the judo programme, I feel that taking on a role within the Forum was one of my responsibilities.
I think it is difficult as a younger athlete to get your opinions heard, whether that be due to lack of confidence or not knowing who to speak to. I think the Athletes Forum is such an important way of highlighting issues within the STV but also areas that are going really well. I am happy that I get to pass on the information that I gather from the judo programme, along with Jan [Gosiewski] as the male rep.”
