Biography >
Tom started playing volleyball while at University in Manchester, three years ago. He spent the first year on the bench watching foreign players dominate the team before being invited to train with the local National League team. After receiving a season of coaching he was captain of the University Men’s team, was in the starting six for the English Universities national team and in the starting six for Manchester, who in his first season won division two, securing promotion to the country’s top division.

Tom first took up beach volleyball after deciding to enter a tournament in Wales with a friend. After learning the rules in the car on the way, we finished 4th in the plate competition!

After attending a GB Beach Volleyball trial weekend in Weymouth he was awarded a TASS scholarship. Having graduated from University in Manchester and moved to Bath to train full-time on the Beach and complete his second year as a TASS scholar, Tom is hoping to develop his game as much as possible and gain the required experience to take it to the next level.
