In 2007 Joseph reach a national standard of performance in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.1 and represented his County in the English Schools Championships in Birmingham in July 2007 (where he ran 15.08 in the final). The event was broadcast on Sky Sports and sponsored by Sainsbury’s.
Joseph has also been selected for the UK Athletics Squad training sessions which take place in Birmingham twice-yearly and has also be selected for the Gloucestershire target 2012 group.
His major sporting aspiration is to compete in the 2012 Olympic Games in London in the Sprints. In preparation for this he trains six times a week at the University of Bath with a former National Sprint Hurdles coach to perfect his craft.
Joseph is the 100m and 200m County Schools Champion, Midlands 60m hurdles silver medallist and South-West Schools silver medallist, he was second in the County indoor championships at The NIA in February 2007 and won the Ben Jeffrey award for outstanding contribution to sport which brought him a small grant in 2006.
In 2008 h was ranked fourth in the indoor U2O rankings for the 60M hurdles and in the outdoor season he was ranked 5th in the U20 mens rankings at the start of June 2008 with a national standard of 14.33 in the 110m hurdles which he ran at the Bedford International on the 1st June 2008.
In 2009 Joseph was ranked 20th in the country overall with a performance of 14.42w at senior hurdles height.
