Biography >
After 23 years in the Royal Navy as a Chief Physical Training Instructor and two years as a full-time tennis official, Chris joined the Sports Training Village as a Duty Manager with ‘special portfolio’ for tennis.  After two years of working from reception, he was asked to concentrate solely on promoting and developing the tennis centre and its various programmes and activities.

Whilst still in the Royal Navy, Chris became a tennis official in 1982 and first officiated at Wimbledon, as a linesman, in 1984.  Chris gained his I.T.F. international badge in 1990 and on completion of his naval career became a full-time tennis official, umpiring and refereeing both home and abroad.

Chris’s on-court officiating led him to work with some of the best players in the world.  Jeremy Bates, Ivan Lendl, Greg Rusedski, Boris Becker, Jennifer Capriati, Goran Ivananisevic, Jamie Yzaga and Patrick McEnroe – to name a few.

He joined Team Bath in 1997 and progressing to the Manager of the University Tennis Centre, overseeing the various community tennis programmes and now organise Team Bath Events & Touranments.
