BA Economics (Bath) 2001
Left-hander with an aggressive all-court game, Simon graduated from University of Bath with an economics degree in 2001. He returned here to combine studying the Sports Performance degree with his aims of climbing higher up the World Rankings.
Simon was instrumental in helping the Bath men’s team to remain undefeated winning 8 BUSA titles between 1997-01. During that period, he was BUSA Doubles Champion and represented the BUSA GB Team.
Following graduation, he coached some of Britain’s top juniors, but still found the time to notch up several notable successes including wins over Alex Bogdanovic and Nick Weal, winning the British Tour event at Frinton, and making finals at Paddington and Tunbridge Wells, as well as playing a prominent part in the Essex Senior County team.
Now back on the tournament trail with a vengeance, Simon qualified and reached the final of the recent ITF $10000 in Jersey, beating in the process Jamie Baker (ATP 380) and Conor Niland (ATP 510).
