Full time employee at Team Bath since July 2011.
Georgina graduated from Cardiff University in 2006 with a first class honours degree in physiotherapy. Following seven years of clinical experience, she is now working towards her MSc (Sports Physiotherapy), at the University of Bath in order expand her knowledge and skills as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with an interest in sports Medicine.
She spent five months last winter travelling worldwide with the British Bobsleigh Team on their World Cup Circuit and supporting a fifth Place finish in the World Championships. Georgina now works closely with the squad in their preparations for Sochi 2014 (Winter Olympics) where they are medal potentials.
Alongside British Bobsleigh her role in the clinic includes working with many Team Bath sports, for example tennis, netball, judo, athletics and football, in addition to managing a private case load of members of the public:- both insured and non-insured clients.
Georgina has also recently secured a role as BUCS physiotherapist for the World Winter University Games 2013.
Previous sports experience includes working with British Swimming, Cardiff Blues Rugby Academy and Welsh Women’s Rugby which supplement her four years experience in the Cardiff and Vale NHS.
During her time in the NHS she completed rotations in all core areas; Neurology, Respiratory, Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal, providing her with an insight to most types of injury/rehabilitation and allowing her to work closely with Doctors and consultants. She is now able to transfer this knowledge in order to effectively diagnose and treat a large variety of problems.
As a keen athlete herself up to an national level, she understands the physical and mental demands of training and can empathise with the frustrations injury can bring.
Georgina also now practices what she preaches and takes great pride in sharing her knowledge with others to help them achieve goals no matter how large or small.
