Biography > A former University of Bath student, Shelly graduated in 2001 with a HND in Coach Ed & Sports Performance. In 2002 she returned to the university to visit friend and Skeleton athlete Greg Kirk, who introduced her to the sport during the trip to Bath. She loved it and spent the next twelve months funding herself , travelling around Europe with a group of military athletes as she looked to learn and develop in the sport. In 2003 she was selected to join the British Skeleton development team.

Shelley was selected for the Winter Olympic squads at Torino 2006, famously winning a superb silver, Vancouver in 2010 and Sochi in 2014.

She was also crowned as World Champion at St Moritz in 2013.
