Title: Head of Club Coaching

Date and Place of Birth: 1986 in Durham, UK

Biography:

Having achieved a 1st Class (Hons) degree in Exercise Science from the University of Leeds Tom went into grass roots coaching, delivering a range of sports ranging from tennis, cricket, fencing and target shooting.

Tom joined Team Bath in 2011 studying a Part-Time Masters in Coach Education and Sports Development (Merit achieved 2014) and taking on the role of University Tennis Coordinator with the intention of improving the ‘Student Experience’ by involving more recreational players in the tennis club.

Since 2011 Tom has worked for the Netball department as a Superleague Coordintator but predominantly for the tennis programme. He has worked across many different ages groups and abilities and has been involved with some major changes in the programme. Most notably was revamping the mini tennis delivery for our youngest players and initiating the Schools and Outreach Programmes.

Tom has taken on the challenge of running the programme as Head of Club Coaching as of January 2017 and is currently taking his UKCC Level 4 Senior Coaching Qualification.

His aims for the role are to develop the amount of players coming through our popular 10&U performance programme into the Academy, increase the tennis available on our outdoor courts and outreach centres, improve our schools offer and to make sure there are competitions on offer for all levels within our centre.
