Istvan Nemeth
Title: Women’s Team Head Coach
Biography:
Istvan was in the Hungarian National Modern Pentathlon squad between 1978-1985 at the Budapesti Honved Sports Club, and then went on to gain a degree in Modern Pentathlon Coaching and Physical Education at the Hungarian University of Physical Education and Sport.
Istvan began his career with Pentathlon GB in 1991 as a volunteer, working as the British National Coach and Team Manager until 1998, when he became an employee of the organisation as Women’s Head Coach.
Istvan has enjoyed a great deal of success in this role coaching athletes such as Steph Cook & Kate Allenby (Olympic Gold & Bronze, Sydney 2000), Georgina Harland (Olympic Bronze, Athens 2004), Heather Fell (Olympic Silver, Beijing 2008), Samantha Murray (Olympic Silver, London 2012) and Mhairi Spence (World Champion 2012).
