Shaun has worked extensively in educational settings which have spawned numerous international players at age grade range for the past 11 years.
Shaun joined in January 2008 and previously completed a PGCE in Physical Education at St Lukes’, University of Exeter and then taught Physical Education for five years. He was Head of U19 Rugby and involved in Bristol Schools coaching programs.
An MSc in Coaching Science at UWIC was then completed and then Shaun worked at the Bristol Academy of Sport, Filton College for over three years employed as a Rugby Academy Coach (Bristol RFC) and also delivered the RFU AASE programme on behalf of Bristol RFC. This was a joint role which also included the management of the colleges HE academic sports programmes.
Shaun is a qualified RFU Level 3 coach and RFU Coach Developer and is involved in coaching the High Performance Group at the University and has been Head Coach externally in senior rugby. A TASS lifestyle RFUW support mentor is another rugby role undertaken.
Shaun delivers applied teaching/coaching units on the Coach Education/Sports Performance undergraduate programmes and is also a student at the University of Bath completing a Doctorate with specialist research interests being ecological and non-linear approaches to coaching/teaching.
