Progressing on from the encouraging performance against a strong Richmond outfit, it was now time for the University of Bath’s men’s rugby team to compete against another University in a trial match.
The opponents were Nottingham University, a repeat fixture from last year’s pre season match and the players involved were eager to impress in what were two intriguing pre season trial games.
45 players travelled to Nottingham and were involved in two mixed squads with a mixture of first, second and third years in either team.
One team were unsuccessful in defeating a very strong and organised Nottingham team, whereas the other team put in a very powerful display and ran in comfortable winners.
Throughout the two sides, effort levels were extremely high from all involved and the ability to work so well with each other given the limited amount of training time was pleasing to see.
