Team Bath Buccaneers Ladies 1st team played, 2nd in the league, Isca at home on Sunday.

With a home crowd behind them, the Buccaneers were in need of three points to take them out of the relegation zone.

The home side were under pressure from the off, with the Isca forwards hammering after the ball and the Buccaneers struggling to get the ball out of their defensive half.

After 30 minutes, Isca scored pulling into the lead just before half time.

The Buccaneers knew they needed to work harder to keep the ball and to get outcomes in their attacking circle.

Bath worked well to move the ball across the pitch which opened up spaces for the forwards to utilise. With a number of balls coming through to the forwards now it was only a matter of time until a chance on goal came.

The chance came for striker Jessica Cremin, after a deflection from an Isca defender came high into the D, she coolly slotted the ball past the keeper into the back of the net to level the scores.

Team Bath Buccaneers defended their half well, with defenders Zoe Shipperley and Beth Stainsby creating some awesome double tackles, and keeper Mandy Ferebee making some brilliant diving saves to keep the ball out of the goal.

Isca, however, managed to win a corner which Stainsby heroically saved from going into the top corner of the goal.

The Buccaneers, were on the up, winning 50/50 balls and battling hard to win the ball.

With five minutes to go, Team Bath had worked the ball up to their attacking D where striker Dani Black received it, made a surging run into the D, beating the Isca goalkeeper wide of goal, and sent the ball, from an extremely tight angle, into the back of the net earning her ‘Man of the Match’.

The home side, continued to battle hard and defend tightly to keep the ball out of their defensive half and rewarding them with their first home win of the season!
