Score: Cardiff 2 – 6 Team Bath

Venue: Futsal Arena, Cardiff

Team Bath made it six wins from six league matches with a 6-2 defeat of Cardiff Futsal Club.

Cardiff, much improved this season, made the start of the game difficult for Bath moving the ball well and having a good proportion of possession without any killer instinct.

Team Bath have added this ruthless edge to their game in recent months and showed why they are top of the league.

From a wide free kick Kitson found Dorin at the back post who volleyed the ball home from close range to make it 1-0.

The lead was doubled a minute later as a Bath began to assert some control over the game moving the ball well. Yilmaz played a forward pass that split the Cardiff defence to Kitson who turned and poked the ball home passed the on rushing goal keeper.

In the second half Bath dropped off a little defensively soaking up the pressure and catching Cardiff on the break.

Parkes won possession mid court and played a one two with Kitson and the former scored his first of the day.

Yilmaz who had a very good game today scored the fourth after some determined work by Ingram to win possession.

Cardiff now going for broke deployed the fly goal keeper. Bath dropped off and defended in zonally looking for opportunities to score into an empty Cardiff net.

Dorin and Kiyamov both hit the post before Parkes scored from long range. Then Parkes completed his hat trick after good work from Clarke down the left who again showed real signs of improvement.

This made it 6-0 with a few minutes to go.

Unfortunately, Bath could not quite keep a clean sheet as on the counter attack Kiyamov seemed to cover well and prevent a Cardiff goal but was penalised for handball in the area and was unluckily sent off.

Cardiff scored the 6m penalty and then added a second goal a minute later when Bath defensively failed to put pressure on the ball.

Dix in the Bath goal had a solid game throughout not giving anything away and it was a shame these two goals at the end prevented him from getting the clean sheet he deserved.

Team Bath travel to Oxford Lions next Sunday which will be first against second in the league in what will be a very tough and important match but the team go into the game full of confidence as they push onto towards the play offs.
