Access Announcement Update

16 December 2011

There will shortly be some changes to the way you can access the Sports Training Village.

We apologise for the delay and are working with our Estates Department to complete the work as soon as possible.

We would encourage everyone to renew their membership cards if they have not already done so.

Please visit the Card Issuing Office at the Sports Training Village to obtain a new card. If the office is closed please find a duty or membership person and if staff are available they may be able to help you. Thank you.

To get a new card we will need to take a new photo which will be printed onto the cards.

Please note: University staff and students do NOT need a new card they will continue to use their library cards.

We are sorry for any inconvenience.

Work has been going on constructing the turnstiles and reception desk on the lower level next to the Team Bath Gym.

There will be free access on the upper viewing areas, lecture rooms and Sports Café and our control to all the sports venues will be via the lower reception using a Mifare membership proximity card.

As we are an educational institution it is vitally important to us that the environment in which we operate is safe and access is properly monitored.

As a result the following procedure has been put in place to ensure minimum standards are maintained.

If a member forgets their card, a reception note will be put onto the member’s file each time with the date stamp showing the access card has been forgotten.

On the third occasion within the 12 week period, the member must pay a £1.20 charge to unfreeze the strikes, and indeed on each subsequent visit until they bring or replace a card. If the card is lost they will be asked to get a new card which will cost £1.20.

We thank you for your co-operation in supporting this.

A very happy new year.

Kind regards

Team Bath
