17 January 2012

Team Bath’s young and exciting Superleague squad get their 2012 campaign underway with a trip to Cardiff to play Celtic Dragons on Friday (20 January).

Head coach Jess Garland says she expects the Welsh side to present a tough challenge for the four-times champions in their Fiat Netball Superleague opener.

Team Bath are continuing their policy of developing talented young players this season – a policy that has borne fruit in past campaigns.

“We are really looking forward to getting the season underway,” said Garland.

“The players and staff have worked hard for a number of months now in preparation for the season and we are all excited to see how we fair against the Dragons.

“It will no doubt be a challenging encounter, as always, and we are under no illusions going into the game that sees us introduce many debutants to Superleague who have worked for many years to achieve their places in the squad,” she added.

“We are very proud at Team Bath of the ongoing commitment to support the development of aspiring young athletes as well as welcoming loyal returning players to the team.

“It is this combination that has always worked for us and we are excited to see what this new look Team Bath team have to offer.”

The Team Bath squad for Celtic Dragons will be chosen from Sam Cook, Emily Rose, Gemma Fletcher, Scarlett Williams, Yasmin Parsons, Amanda Trounce, Mia Ritchie, Kerry Walsh, Becky Watkins, Millie Grey, Kadeen Corbin, Asha Francis, Kat Hayes, Kirsty Delves and Kate McGinley
