Charity cash presented to Mayor of Bath

07 February 2012

Cash raised at Team Bath’s charity pre-season netball contest was presented to the Mayor of Bath at half-time in Friday’s Fiat Netball Superleague fixture.

Team Bath took on an All-Stars team for the season preview game in December. Admission was free but fans were encouraged to make a donation to charity or buy a raffle ticket.  Proceeds went to the Mayor of Bath’s Relief Fund.

Mayor of Bath Councillor Bryan Chalker came along to Team Bath’s game against Surrey Storm at the Team Bath Arena on Friday night where he was presented with a cheque by Team Bath netballers Kirsty Delves and Hannah Thompson.

Jess Garland, Team Bath’s head netball coach, said: “We’d like to thank everyone who contributed – both in terms of giving money on the day and in donating raffle prizes.”

The Mayor of Bath’s Relief Fund, which helps local residents facing hardship, received just over £225 from the game.
