Lizzy wins second World Cup gold

11 February 2012

Lizzy Arnold, who trains at the University of Bath’s Sports Training Village, won her second Skeleton World Cup title of the season when she took gold in Calgary.

The 23-year-old followed up her victory in St Moritz last month with her second World Cup victory in Canada.

In between Lizzy, who was only pomoted to British Skeleton’s World Cup team four weeks ago, found time to win the World Junior Championships on the Igls track in Austria.

There was further success for the University of Bath-based British Skeleton programme as Shelley Rudman took bronze in Calgary. It meant that Rudman, the 2006 Olympic Winter Games silver medallist who now trains in Sheffield, won the overall 2011/2 World Cup Series.
